Specialised Energy Solutions and Radium Capital join the QUT-anchored national team ahead of the November race.

Airspeeder Team Australia has confirmed Specialised Energy Solutions and Radium Capital as the first Official Suppliers for its Airspeeder International Series campaign, strengthening the industrial line-up behind Australia’s national flying car racing entry ahead of the series race in November 2026.

Airspeeder Team Australia competes in the world’s first racing series for electric flying cars (eVTOLs), flying craft designed and built in Adelaide, South Australia. The team made its debut at The Bend Motorsport Park in April 2026 and campaigns the Mk3C platform in International Series competition.

"A race team is only as strong as the companies standing behind it. Specialised Energy Solutions and Radium Capital are part of what makes Team Australia a genuinely national effort: Australian businesses backing Australian engineering as we head toward upcoming racing event"
Matt Pearson CEO & FOUNDER, AIRSPEEDER

Specialised Energy Solutions, a Wollongong-based renewable energy company that develops, integrates, and maintains utility-scale solar, substations, and battery storage systems, will supply renewable power to the team.

“We spend our days keeping some of the biggest renewable energy sites in the country running, so we know what it takes to make electric systems perform when it counts. Specialised Energy is now proud to be an official supplier for Team Australia, the world's first flying car racing series, helping Australians compete on the global stage in clean energy and air mobility"
Aaron Mulhall CEO, Specialised Energy Solutions.

Radium Capital, Australia’s market leader in R&D financing, provides advances against the Federal Government’s R&D Tax Incentive, and has delivered more than $1.1 billion in non-dilutive funding to over 1,000 Australian companies since 2017. As Official Supplier, Radium Capital provides R&D financing to turbo-charge the team’s vehicle development program.

“Our whole business is built on backing Australian companies pushing the boundaries of innovation, and few teams embody that better than this crew. We've helped Airspeeder through its growth journey, and we're excited to continue that support as part of Team Australia.”
Jeremy Loftus Managing Director, Radium Capital

The suppliers join a team anchored by QUT, one of Airspeeder Team Australia’s first partners.

QUT brings a multidisciplinary research group drawn from the QUT Research Engineering Facility and Faculty of Engineering, working alongside the QUT Aerospace Society (QUTAS). The university’s students and researchers, with deep expertise in aerospace engineering, robotics, and autonomous systems, are tackling the engineering challenges at the core of the sport, from lightweight aircraft design and autonomous flight to battery performance and advanced sensing.

The QUT project team, led by research engineer and technical project lead Dr Julian Galvez alongside Dr Guilherme Froes Silva, Professor Felipe Gonzalez, and Professor Jonathan Roberts, works with Airspeeder’s program management on the team’s racing platform.

Team Australia’s program spans aerodynamics, battery systems, propulsion, and AI-enabled flight control, developed in competition against national teams from countries at the forefront of eVTOL development.
